Liquid Diet Recipes

These liquid diet recipes were designed to help you get through the phases of the diet without having a setback due to being tired of the same foods each day.  These liquid diet recipes are based on the original HCG food list and follow the HCG protocol.

Liquid Diet Recipes for the HCG Diet

Soups are excellent options for liquid diet recipes.  Here are some very tasty soups that are perfect for the HCG diet.  The first two liquid diet recipes are for homemade chicken or vegetable broth.  These can be used as a base for the soups.

Homemade Chicken Broth

Ingredients

  • 3 large chicken breasts
  • 10 or more cups of water
  • ½ large onion (chopped)
  • 4 stalks of celery (chopped)
  • 5 cloves of garlic (sliced)
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1.      Combine the chicken and water in a large pot or crock pot.  Make sure the water covers the chicken slightly.

2.      Add in the celery and spices.

3.      Bring the water to a boil then reduce heat and simmer until chicken is done.  If you use the crock pot, you will need to cook for 4 hours.

4.      Remove the vegetables and chicken from the broth.

5.      Refrigerate the broth and skim off the fat from the chicken.

6.      Strain to get clear broth.

7.      Save the chicken for your other recipes.

Homemade Vegetable Broth

Ingredients

  • 10 or more cups of water
  • ½ large onion (chopped)
  • 10 cloves of garlic (chopped)
  • 6-10 stalks celery
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp of thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1.      Boil the water in a large pot or crock pot.

2.      Add in the vegetables and spices. If you use a crock pot, cook for 2 to 4 hours.

3.      Strain out the vegetables and save for other recipes.

Chicken and Cabbage Soup

Ingredients

  • 100 grams chicken
  • Cabbage
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cloves garlic crushed and minced
  • ¼ tsp thyme
  • 1 tbsp chopped onion
  • ¼ tsp rosemary
  • 2 tbsp Bragg’s amino acids (optional)
  • Cayenne to taste
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1.      Mix the chicken and spices together in a medium saucepan.

2.      Boil the broth.

3.      Add in the cabbage.

4.      Reduce the heat and simmer for approximately 30 minutes.

Celery Soup

Ingredients

  • Celery
  • 2 c chicken broth
  • 1 bay leaf
  • ¼ teaspoon thyme
  • ¼ teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1.      Cook the celery until it is very soft.

2.      Puree in a blender or food processor with the broth and spices.

3.      Simmer for 20 to 30 minutes.

Vegetable Beef Soup

Ingredients

  • 100 grams lean beef (cubed)
  • Celery, cabbage, OR tomato (diced)
  • 2 c beef or vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp onion (chopped)
  • 1 clove garlic (crushed and minced)
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/8 tsp dried basil
  • 1/8 tsp fresh or dried oregano
  • Pinch of thyme
  • Pinch of paprika
  • Pinch of chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1.      Mix together the onion, garlic, and spices with the beef broth.

2.      Add in the celery and diced beef.

3.      Simmer for 20 to 30 minutes.

4.      Add in the tomatoes.  Simmer for five more minutes.

Tomato Basil Soup

Ingredients

  • 2 c chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 c fresh tomatoes (chopped)
  • 3 ounces of tomato paste
  • 4-6 leaves of fresh basil (rolled and sliced)
  • 1-2 cloves garlic (crushed and minced)
  • 2 tbsp onion (chopped)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp dried oregano
  • Pinch of marjoram
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

1.      In a blender or food processor, puree all the ingredients together.

2.      Boil in a medium saucepan.  Reduce the heat and simmer.

These HCG liquid diet recipes are designed for Phase 2 of the HCG diet and can be modified for stage 3 by adding in more vegetables and other ingredients.
